Germany

E-mail: datenschutz@seak.de

Should you have any questions regarding data protection, including in connection with this app, you may contact our Data Protection Officer at any time using the address or e-mail address stated above (subject: “For the Attention of the Data Protection Officer”).

2. Categories of Personal Data Processed and Purposes of Processing

The app itself collects and processes only such personal data as is strictly necessary for downloading the app, ensuring its technical operation, and identifying the user.

The app is made available via the Google Play Store. In connection with the download of the app, Google processes personal data (e.g., Google account information, device information, and IP address). SEAK has no influence over such processing activities. Google is solely responsible for this processing. For further information, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

For the purpose of providing access to the SEAK Workforce Management System, the app processes exclusively the following data:

·         Username

  • Password (in encrypted form)
  • Technical connection data (IP address and timestamp)

Authentication by means of biometric data (e.g., fingerprint or facial recognition) is not supported by the app.

Important Notice: The app serves solely as a technical means of access to your employer’s SEAK Workforce Management System. Any personal data that you access, retrieve, enter, modify, or otherwise process within the system after authentication (e.g., working time records, duty rosters, or requests) is processed by your employer in its capacity as the data controller under applicable data protection laws. Any questions regarding such processing should therefore be directed to your employer.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Personal data is processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The legitimate interest pursued is the provision and operation of the app as well as the authentication of users through the app.

4. App Permissions

The app requires permission to access the device’s camera solely for the purpose of scanning a QR code used to configure the server URL. This functionality does not permit access to any personal data of the end user.

Permission is requested when the relevant function is used for the first time. Users may refuse such permission. In this case, the QR code scanning functionality will not be available; however, all other app functions will remain unaffected.

5. Logging

The app itself does not log user activities.

When a connection is established to the employer’s server or to the SEAK backend infrastructure, technical connection data (in particular IP address and timestamp) may be logged on the server side. Such logging is carried out exclusively for the purposes of ensuring IT security and maintaining the proper operation of the system.

6. Recipients of Personal Data

Personal data processed through the app is not disclosed to third parties and is not transferred to countries outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA).

7. Retention Periods

The app does not maintain separate user accounts and does not store personal data locally on the user’s device.

Technical connection data (IP address and timestamp) is retained only for as long as necessary for the operation and security of the system and, in any event, for no longer than 90 days, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law.

8. Rights of Data Subjects

To the extent that SEAK acts as the controller for the processing activities described in Section 2, data subjects are entitled to the following rights under the GDPR:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

In addition, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR.
